北極Rally – MINI GT Lincoln Capri Christmas Hot Rod by Tim Sadchikov

「Santa Claus Driver」、「Mrs.

North Pole Rally – MINI GT Lincoln Capri Christmas Hot Rod by Tim Sadchikov
What could be better than seeing your design commercialized and sold worldwide? MINI GT held their “MINI GT 2024 Christmas Model Design Competition” mid-year, with Tim Sadchikov emerging victorious. True to their word, MINI GT transformed Tim’s creation into today’s Lincoln Capri Christmas Hot Rod.

The competition invited participants to create custom liveries for the Lincoln Capri. The grand prize winner received a Director Gift Model Car, 72 Christmas model cars, a VIP pass to the 2025 Malaysia Gala Event, and an invitation to Malaysia MDX. Tim Sadchikov’s “Rally North Pole” design won with his original concept: “I decided to play off the Carrera Panamericana livery with a ‘Rally North Pole’ theme. The car is covered in ice as it is racing from the North Pole with the presents in the trunk. With chrome blue color and white accents, it creates a nice mashup of a retro rally livery and classic hot rod paint schemes.”

The MINI GT Christmas package includes Tim Sadchikov’s electroplated blue Lincoln Capri Christmas car and MINI GT’s first rainbow-plated Christmas ornament car. Both feature roof holes for hanging strings, which remain visible even when the string is removed through the opening body shell. Interestingly, Tim’s original design features the number “25,” while the production version displays “24.” Since the two versions differ only in plating colors, we’ll focus on one: The electroplated blue with white details creates a surprisingly appealing effect, featuring white snowflakes and branch-like patterns. The body is decorated with text including “MMXXIV Holiday Season Rally North Pole,” “Santa Claus Driver,” “Mrs. Claus Co-Driver,” “Rudolf’s Sleds,” “The Elf Workshop,” and “Christmas.” A large “24” adorns the roof, and there’s a see-through gift box detail on the rear, faithfully reproducing the winning design.

Looks like we should try entering next year’s competition.
