A Record-Breaking Brand Lineup
Since its founding six years ago, the Hong Kong ToyCar Salon has steadily grown into one of the must-attend annual exhibitions in the model car scene across Asia. This year, the number of participating brands and exhibitors has once again broken records, with heavyweight brands from Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, Japan, Germany and the United States all converging under one roof.
From Hong Kong and Macau, POP RACE, Tarmac Works, INNO64, Tiny, Trends Hobby, Sparky, BM Creations, Hung Hing Toys and Model 1 continue to hold their presence, fully demonstrating the international competitiveness of local brands. Model 1, a long-time favourite among bus model enthusiasts, returns this year alongside 80M, giving public transport model collectors two dedicated brands to explore side by side — a combination that transit fans will not want to miss.
From Mainland China, Motorhelix, LCD Model and Fun Tech Lab will showcase their latest product lines. Legendary Japanese brands Tomica and Hobby Japan continue to participate, bringing strong Japanese flavour to the show floor. From the Americas, US-based DPLS and Greenlight make their appearance, with Greenlight making a particularly welcome return this year — stock will be available on-site for direct purchase, meaning fans can browse and buy with no pre-ordering required. Classic German brands Schuco and Majorette also make their return, rounding out a brand roster that spans three continents.
This edition also welcomes several first-time exhibitors, including popular building block model brand Blokees, high-end diecast brand Almost Real, and local emerging brand Kilo Works — a brand-new face at the Salon whose debut has already generated considerable excitement among collectors. F1 enthusiasts will want to pay close attention as Minichamps, renowned for its precision-crafted F1 scale models, makes an appearance at this year’s show. Local creative brand Mososisi returns with new works, showcasing its signature concrete-textured model accessories and diorama pieces that have developed a dedicated following among fans of locally crafted collectibles.
On the interactive experience front, Sharewow brings its 3D Scanner to the Salon floor, allowing visitors to scan themselves into a 3D figurine and place it inside a model diorama scene — creating a truly personalised collectible that is unlike anything else at the show. Fingerprint, a perennial favourite with younger visitors, is back with fresh creative projects and hands-on interactive activities that children love, making it one of the most family-friendly stops on the exhibition floor.
Railway and Aircraft Models Make Their Mark
Building on the success of previous editions, this year’s Salon expands its scope significantly with the introduction of a dedicated aircraft model zone, ensuring that enthusiasts across all areas of scale modelling have something to discover.
In the railway modelling space, Khaho will be presenting an all-new range of N Scale railway models — highly detailed, precisely proportioned pieces that are sure to impress discerning collectors and seasoned railway enthusiasts alike.
For aviation fans, Collector Wings Model arrives with a substantial collection of aircraft models spanning multiple airlines and aircraft types, making it a key destination for anyone with a passion for aviation collectibles. The Model Hub will also be unveiling new aircraft model products at the show — details are to be revealed on the day, so aviation fans are encouraged to visit early.
The Pixel Theme: A Love Letter to the 80s and 90s
This year’s visual identity is built around the “Pixel” theme, with 8-bit pixel art style running throughout all key visuals and the exhibition’s overall aesthetic. The 1980s and 90s were the golden age of pixel gaming worldwide and also one of Hong Kong’s most vibrant and culturally rich eras. This edition reinterprets iconic local elements — neon signs, road markers, traffic lights — through a pixel art lens, uniting two waves of nostalgia rooted in the same era and creating a shared sense of resonance for both local and international audiences.
The three-day exhibition will feature a series of exciting stage activities, including brand launches, sharing sessions with automotive and model industry personalities, and travel insights from railway enthusiasts — comprehensively enhancing the exhibition’s diverse experience for visitors of all ages.
Curator Lierence Li, Managing Director of Market Hubs, said: “Every edition of the Hong Kong ToyCar Salon introduces new elements. This year’s Pixel theme draws inspiration from the golden age of home consoles and arcade machines. We hope to reinterpret Hong Kong streetscapes through pixel art, enabling audiences of different generations to find resonance and discover the unique charm of Hong Kong culture in a retro atmosphere. This year’s participating brands are even more international, and we have expanded the railway and aircraft model elements. We look forward to continuing to build the Hong Kong ToyCar Salon into an unmissable annual event for car fans across Asia.”
