Shadow Pro Mitsubishi Pajero V97

Final Evolution – Shadow Pro Mitsubishi Pajero V97
Earlier this year, rumors circulated about Mitsubishi’s plans to revive the Pajero in 2026, followed by concept renderings from independent automotive designer Enoch Gonzales mid-year, which could have been mistaken for official announcements. However, with plans still uncertain, those wanting a new Pajero (not the Pajero Sport) might have to look to the world of scale models. GCD’s sister brand Shadow Pro has released a 1/64 Pajero V97 model, notably in right-hand drive configuration, making it particularly appealing.

The V97 represents the late-model variant of the fourth-generation Pajero (2006-2021), powered by a 3.8L V6 MIVEC 6G75 gasoline engine producing 250ps at 6,000rpm and 329Nm of torque at 2,750rpm. It features an INVECS-II five-speed automatic transmission and the Super Select II four-wheel drive system. The system offers four driving modes – 2H, 4H, 4HLc, and 4LLc – with a rear differential lock, demonstrating true off-road capability. Distinctive features include the side-opening rear door, trapezoidal grille, and LED daytime running lights. This model marked the end of the legendary 39-year series.

Unlike GCD’s orange packaging, Shadow Pro opts for a black and orange box design, maintaining the half-window display, vacuum-formed packaging, and screwless base design. The model features working steering, detailed undercarriage with visible exhaust routing, though internal access is limited. Through the sunroof, one can spot the gear shifter and differential lock controls in the center console. The white paint finish is generally uniform, though some “black edges” are visible around the wheel arches and doors. Silver-finished running boards and roof rack enhance the overall appearance. The rear treatment is particularly impressive, featuring a physical spare tire and detailed clear parts for headlights, fog lights, and taillights. As for whether a new Pajero will emerge in the future, that remains uncertain.
