Toyota Coaster B59 Airport Express Shuttle Bus

Airport Express Shuttle – Tiny 1:76 Toyota Coaster B59 Airport Express Shuttle Bus Review
As a frequent visitor to AsiaWorld-Expo, the Airport Express has been my indispensable transport choice over the years. When Tiny announced their 1:76 scale Toyota Coaster Airport Express shuttle bus model, it was an instant purchase decision for this transit enthusiast.

According to hkbus.fandom.com, the Airport Express shuttle bus service launched simultaneously with the Airport Express on July 6, 1998. These complimentary shuttles connected designated landmarks and hotels with Hong Kong and Kowloon stations. Route H1, originally designated as AES1, was renamed in the early 2000s and served hotels in Central and Admiralty areas including the HKCEC, Renaissance Hong Kong Harbour View Hotel, Grand Hyatt, Novotel Century, Island Shangri-La, JW Marriott, Wharney Hotel, and Empire Hotel Hong Kong. Passengers needed valid Airport Express tickets to board. The service was suspended during the pandemic and ultimately ceased operations on June 30, 2020, due to low ridership and contract expiration.
Being a collector-focused release, Tiny’s execution meets expectations. While the Toyota Coaster isn’t a new tooling, the model features accurate livery details including the “Free Shuttle to Airport Express trains ” text, route number “H1”, Airport Express and MTR logos, and passenger service license plate. While other Airport Express shuttle models like the Mercedes-Benz OC500RF or Mitsubishi Rosa may be unlikely releases, never say never – we’ll save those discussions for future articles.
