Xcartoys x TAO Design Trinity Type 01
English

From 2024 3D-Printed Viral Prototype to All-Alloy Production: Xcartoys x TAO Design Trinity Morphs from Shooting Brake to Sedan with a Push
Xcartoys’ X Series has teamed up with Xiaohongshu designer brand TAO Design for the first time, launching the EDC PUSH Trinity Type 01 — an all-alloy transforming toy car arriving in three variants: Trinity, Trinity Hyper and Trinity Off. The gimmick: a cockpit that slides back and forth with a magnetic “snap-click.” The real headline? These designs debuted as 3D-printed prototypes back in 2024, building a fan following online — and after two years, they’re finally in alloy production. In short: the transforming car the internet begged for two years ago actually exists now — you’d better get one.

TAO Design is the personal brand of Xiaohongshu creator “Taotao愛玩小車車,” who drummed up demand for all three cars through 3D-printed, made-to-order runs. In this production version, the flagship Trinity is full alloy: the cockpit glides along a track, morphing from a long-nose Shooting Brake into a Sedan or Pickup, with a hole at the rear for the included strap — keychain duty sorted. The SUV-style Trinity Off echoes a Cybertruck once you push the cockpit forward; the Trinity Hyper sports car transforms the least. All three ship in a dedicated plastic case that converts into a carry-anywhere “display box” with the included cord. Honest hands-on verdict: the magnetic snap is genuinely addictive after a dozen pushes, but “stress relief” remains a stretch. Whether TAO Design’s other concepts — Balance, Home, Air, Apollo, the “Horse” car, and the ultra-high-speed transport truck — will get the production treatment, nobody’s betting yet.
