MINI GT Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 #23 KCMG 2018 FIA GT World Cup Macau

Tsugio Matsuda – MINI GT 1/64 Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 #23 KCMG 2018 FIA GT World Cup Macau
In September 2024, MINI GT announced its collaboration with Japanese racing legend Tsugio Matsuda by launching a series of Nissan GT-R models drawn from his storied career. While Matsuda recently appeared at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2025 for autograph sessions, today’s spotlight is on a different release—the 1/64 scale model of his 2018 FIA GT World Cup Macau challenger, the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 #23 driven by the KCMG team.

Tsugio Matsuda’s racing career is the stuff of legends. After his breakthrough second-place finish at the 2002 All Japan Grand Touring Car Championship, he quickly became a standout talent. In 2006, Matsuda joined Nissan’s Super GT team and won his first race at Autopolis that same year, laying the foundation for decades of success. His accolades include back-to-back Formula Nippon championships in 2007 and 2008, as well as consecutive Super GT GT500 titles in 2014 and 2015. With over 25 victories, he holds the record for the most wins in the series. Off the track, Matsuda has lent his expertise to projects such as the development of the Nissan Z Proto’s instrument panel, ensuring that real-world racing insights influence everyday driving experiences. His indomitable spirit was further proven in 2023 when, after suffering a severe crash, he remarkably returned to competition within two months.
This MINI GT release faithfully reproduces the distinctive livery of Matsuda’s KCMG-run GT-R NISMO GT3 from the 2018 FIA GT World Cup at Macau’s Guia Circuit. The model features a predominantly white finish accented with red and green highlights, alongside the KCMG and NISMO logos and Matsuda’s signature race number #23. Although this edition does not come with a driver figure, future releases in the Tsugio Matsuda collection are expected to include additional memorabilia. Specific details such as pricing, release dates, and product codes will be announced as soon as they become available.
